• Manitou is proud to host two programs after the conclusion of our primary camp. Experience Camps, called ManEx at our location, are one-week camps for children who have suffered the loss of a loved-one or primary caregiver. All campers attend free of charge and most staff are volunteers. Summer Dreams Camp is a partnership with the Boston Public Schools and serves boys who are members of the 10 Boys Initiative.  The boys qualify to attend the program but there is no tuition fee.
• During the fall, the Manitou community comes together for Manitou Service Days and Wear Manitou Day.  The Manitou Service Days are locally organized service projects allowing campers, staff, and parents to “Give Back” together. You can learn more about last year’s projects at this link. Wear Manitou Day occurs each November. Manitou community members are encouraged to wear Manitou gear, take photos and share them via social media. In addition, a shirt is created and sold to raise money for the Experience Camps. This link includes a photo gallery of recent photos.
• Manitou campers and staff often create their own projects and ask us to support their efforts.  An example is the Dunks 4 Diabetes program, a basketball event created by staff member Jordan Yaffe. Aside from Jordan’s Baltimore event, D4D tournaments include several locations managed by current Manitou campers and staff.
